Bulldog Bash under threat

Police have asked for a licence review of the Bulldog Bash, which is due to be held at Long Marston Airfield in August, because of safety concerns.

Warwickshire police are concerned about rising levels of violence between criminal members of motorcycle gangs at the event which came to national attention in 2007, when biker Gerry Tobin was shot dead by members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club on his way home from the event.

The Bulldog Bash is considered to be one of Europe's most popular, annual, motorcycle festivals with a reported attendance of 50,000 people in 2007. It takes place over a weekend in mid-August, at the Shakespeare County Raceway, which is situated outside Stratford-on-Avon in England.
